Mayor and councillor's year of pranks ends in water fight
AN EPIC end to a year of pranks between mayor Paul Pisasale and councillor Paul Tully has ended with a water balloon fight which saw the two councillors battle it out for a very worthy cause.
The councillors took to Orion Lagoon along with Cr David Morrison and Cr Andrew Antoniolli to put an end to the ongoing friendly feud between them.
"It started three months ago when Paul Pisasale pushed me into Orion Lagoon and then I got him back with a giant water pistol at the lagoon naming," Cr Tully said.
The Goodna councillor admitted that the ultimate betrayal came when Mayor Pisasale recruited one of his own sons to his team.
"I had my two sons there and Pisasale got John-Paul to be on his team. Although I don't think accuracy was a common theme on the day," he joked.
In total $3000 was raised with the funds split equally between Act For Kids and Ipswich Hospice Care just in time for Christmas.
"They are two charities that are really important around Christmas time," Cr Pisasale said.
"We wanted to let patients in hospice know we were thinking about them at this time of year as well as show our support for kids who might not have something under the tree."
Cr Tully said the water fight yesterday morning was a great way to end the year as well as get a bit of revenge for pranks played in 2015.
