Woombye couple set to retire on $1 million Superdraw win

A SUNSHINE Coast couple's normally quiet household erupted into pandemonium this morning when they discovered they'd won a $1 million first division prize in the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto $20 Million Superdraw.

The winners were completely unaware they were new millionaires until a Golden Casket official was able to get in contact with them today and break the life-changing news.

"You are kidding me? You've got to be kidding me?" the winning wife questioned.

"This is what people dream about and now I know that dreams really do come true!

"Luck really was with me the other day! I was walking past the newsagency and thought I'd better grab a Gold Lotto entry because there was $20 million on offer!

"Everyone is going crazy here at the moment! They're all making phone calls and breaking the news that we've won Gold Lotto to other family members. My husband must have been shaving when you called because he's still got shaving cream on half of his face! It's a bit of a madhouse!

"Oh my goodness - it's really starting to sink in now that I've won a million dollars. I'm starting to get the shakes!

"You have no idea what this means to us. This prize money will take so much pressure off us and I've been wanting to retire so this means I'll now be able to!"

The winners, who have chosen to remain anonymous, bought the division one winning 18-game QuickPick entry from Woombye Newsagency.

Throughout Australia, there were 20 entries that won a first division share of Saturday Gold Lotto's $20 Million Superdraw on Saturday 31 October, each worth $1 million.

Apart from the division one winning entry from Woombye, two other first division winning entries were from Queensland, five were sold in New South Wales, one in the ACT, six in Victoria, two in Tasmania, one from South Australia and two were purchased in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3577 on Saturday 31 October 2015 were 20, 10, 19, 37, 14 and 27 with the supplementary numbers of 29 and 13.
