Woman charged with stabbing a man in the stomach

A MAN is in hospital with stab wounds to his stomach, after he was allegedly stabbed by a woman early Saturday morning.

At around 1am police attended a Townsville service station after a man walked in, needing medical help after the attack.

Officers found the female suspect who was subsequently taken into custody.

Police will allege the man was walking along Jaibu Avenue in Condon when he was approached and assaulted before fleeing on foot.

A 37-year-old Kirwan man was taken to Townsville Base Hospital for treatment of a stab wound to his stomach.

A 37-year-old Condon woman has been charged with one count of wounding and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrate Court on December 6.
