Windy Warra still draws a crowd

WINDY weather didn't dampen spirits as hundreds enjoyed a good country race meeting at Warra on Saturday.

Over 600 attendees rugged up and made their way to the track to enjoy the five race program, Fashions on the Field and family entertainment.

Warra Race Club President Scott Cooper said the event received great attendance and support from the community.

"Considering the weather, people still came out so it just shows their support and that they want to come,” he said.

"For us it's once a year, it brings the community together to have a bet, have a drink have a meal and makes for a great social event.

"It's good to see people get together and have a good time.”

The day finished with an exciting run in race five with King's Men dashing over the line three and a half lengths in front followed by a hotly contested children's barrel horse race final.
