Timbertown Festival

DON'T miss the tranquil town of Jandowae transform into a bustling hive of activity this weekend for the Jandowae Timbertown Festival that's held just once every two years.

The fun and excitement all kicks off tomorrow afternoon at 4pm with the barefoot bowls, followed by the official opening at 6pm with the art exhibition and cocktail party.

Saturday and Sunday will be bursting at the seams from morning until long after dark with market and food stalls, the grand parade, dodge-ball, live music, art and craft exhibitions, rugby league, fireworks, bull rides, barrel races, chainsaw races, car show and so much more.

Dustier than Ever

LONG time friend of Slim Dusty and talented musician Chris Cook will play his Slim Dusty tribute show tomorrow evening at Tara Memorial Hall.

Doors open at 6pm with dinner served at 6.30pm before the show gets under way at 7.30pm.

Meals are included in the ticket price which are $35 per person pre-paid from Tara True Vale Hardware or $40 at the door.

Children aged 5-15 years are $15.

A bar will be operating on the night.

Tara Folk Festival

TUNE your guitar, polish your harmonica or just bring your toes along to tap to the tunes at this weekend's Tara Folk Festival.

Everyone is welcome to the family friendly event with free camping facilities at the Wieambilla South Country Club on 21 Billabong Lane. Licensed bar and meals available all weekend. Starts from noon on Saturday.

Motocross day

CHINCHILLA Motocross Club are having their fully prepped practice day on Sunday from 8am at the Brigalow Recreation Grounds.

Entry prices are $20 for senior/adults or $15 for juniors.

Free camping allowed over Saturday night with a canteen and showers in operation.
