BATTLING NRL club Wests Tigers have been hit with another off-field distraction after star halfback Luke Brooks was arrested following a late night brawl.
The Tigers on Sunday night released a statement confirming a player had been involved in an "incident", with Channel 9 reporting Brooks was arrested following a brawl outside Balmain Workers Bar & Kitchen.
According to the report, Brooks and teammate Kyle Lovett were both involved in the altercation that spilt onto the street, with the brawl also involving one of Brooks' brothers.
There are no allegations that either player threw any punches.
Neither Brooks or Lovett have been charged but the incident is being investigated by the NRL's Integrity Unit.
The off-field drama comes at a bad time for the Tigers, with Brooks' halves partner Mitchell Moses understood to be on the verge of a release so he can join Parramatta after signing with the Eels on a two-year deal, starting in 2018.
Moses' release is thought to be dependent on the Tigers securing Tui Lolohea on an immediate transfer from the Warriors, with the Tigers hoping to lure the young utility to Concord to take over from James Tedesco at fullback next season.
The Tigers plan to use Lolohea at five-eighth for the remainder of this season if they can sign him and they release Moses but that plan would be thrown into disarray if disciplinary action had to be taken against Brooks.
