Drunken house party ends with man bleeding on the ground

A VIOLENT house party led police to a property in Goomeri, where they discovered a man bleeding on the ground.

Harley David Nathan pleaded guilty to obstructing police and a public nuisance charges when he appeared in Murgon Magistrates Court.

Police Prosecutor Pepe Gangemi said police stumbled upon an altercation at the residence in the early hours of February 7.

Mr Gangemi said a drunken argument kicked off the incident. "Police say that all persons present had demanded an ambulance be called as there was someone, who was the defendant, was bleeding to death."

"Police saw him lying on the ground with a cut to his right eyebrow, he had blood on his face, and he was then restrained by two other persons.

"He was intoxicated and screaming at the police to let go of him. When he realised it was police, he (verbally abused them)."

QAS arrived on the scene to treat the man for his injuries, who was restrained.

The defendant was removed from the property and taken away in a police vehicle.

"He resisted, he had to be physically dragged to the vehicle, and he had to be sedated."

Mr Gangemi said the defendant had a history of drug use.

Nathan was fined $500 for the public nuisance charge and $200 for his assault on police. No conviction was recorded.
