Unique artwork a stroke of genius

IT TOOK Chinchilla's Helen Dennis a month of labour to finish - an artwork built on texture and colours she normally wouldn't put together.

But when work Landscape No.1 won the 2019 Chinchilla Melon Festival Art Competition painting category, you could tell it was all worth it.

More than 70 people attended the exhibition preview on Monday night, where winners were announced.

The gallery expects more than 1000 people to take a peek at the exhibition during Melon Festival weekend alone.
