Truck in flames at Dalby home

A truck has gone up in an inferno this morning, with two loud noises waking up residents.

The truck, parked in a driveway on Winton St East, Dalby, was alight at around 2.30am.

The company vehicle was owned by Wideland Ag. and Construction, and was driven by diesel fitter Luke Richards, who was trying to contain the flame with his garden hose as fire fighters arrived.

"There were two loud bangs, which I am assuming were the two front tyres," Mr Richards said.

"My wife was woken by the first bang and when the second one off went knew it was the truck."

Fire fighters were able to quickly put out the flame, as the truck was only metres away from the house.

Senior Constable Jamie Leonard said police were investigating the fire, however there was no indication that it was deliberately lit.
