A GROUP of bicycle-riding women allegedly bashed a teenager in Surfers Paradise on Monday.

A 17-year-old woman was walking north along the Gold Coast Highway at 5.15pm when she was assaulted from behind by three females on bicycles.

The victim was knocked to the ground after being punched to the head a number of times before the trio took her phone and wallet and rode north.

The victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Detectives have appealed to people who might have witnessed the mugging or have information that could identify the three offenders.
