UPDATE: The bull arab puppy pictured in this week's paper has since found a home. The terrier-cross boy (pictured below) is still looking for his forever family.

IN AN attempt to reduce the number of unclaimed animals impounded in the region, Chinchilla News has joined forces with the Western Downs Regional Council for Western Downs Pound Pets.

The initiative, which is featured every Thursday, aims to find new homes for animals the council is unable to reunite with their owners and to promote responsible pet ownership on the Western Downs.

Impounded animals are microchipped by council upon adoption.

For information about rescuing one of this week's featured pets, contact the Western Downs Regional Council Customer Service Centre on 1300268624.
