Things to do in Chinchilla and the Western Downs this week
Not Just for Laughs gigs
COMEDIAN Tom Gleeson is playing a set of special shows just for Western Downs audiences this week.
The free nights of comedy will be held in Miles on Friday, Dalby on Saturday and Chinchilla on Sunday.
The events will feature entertainment from local musicians and performers, free light meals and a bar.
Tickets must be booked in advance and audience members must be at least 16years of age.
Get your tickets before they run out by phoning Western Downs Regional Council on 1300 COUNCIL or by visiting a Customer Service Centre.
Condamine Bell Campdraft
WITH more than 1200 runs set for this year's Condamine Bell Rodeo, it's a good thing the event will be running over three days at the Condamine Sports and Recreation Grounds.
The action will kick off Friday and go through until Sunday, with all proceeds from the event going to local charities.
The main action is set for the Sunday of the campdraft, with the novice and open drafts coming to a head after the elimination rounds the day before.
Oktoberfest in Chinchilla
FISH out the dirndl and lederhosen this Saturday night because Germany is coming to Chinchilla with Oktoberfest.
Event organisers have gone all out with the German theme, so in addition to the mandatory German beer and steins to drink them from, food and music from Deutschland will also be in ample supply.
Tickets can be pre-purchased for $25 by phoning CCI event manager Kimberley Lingard on 0410022 519 or bought at the door on the night for $30.
Rural Women's Breakfast
THURSDAY, October 15, is International Rural Women's Day and to honour rural women everywhere, Chinchilla QCWA is holding a special breakfast at the Chinchilla Bowls Club.
Starting at 7am, the event will go through until 9am and feature multi-draw raffles.
Tickets are $25 per person and available from One Hour Photo.
