3. Illora lockdown due to flu outbreak

The Southern Cross Care Illora village located in Chinchilla remains under quarantine due to an outbreak of influenza A. A statement released by the operator, Cross Care Illoura Village, said the facility had been obligated to notify Queensland Health once it became apparent that at least three residents had contracted the virus.

4. 400 JOBS: Downs solar farm reaches key milestone

More than 400 workers will be needed when construction begins on a massive solar energy project on the Western Downs early next year. The project reached a key milestone this week, after sealing an agreement to connect the 162MW project to the state's publicly-owned electricity grid.

Four years after Tanya Wittmann joined the Dalby SES unit, she attended a job where she was required to tarp a man's roof. That man told Ms Wittmann that if he knew "a chick had to get up on her roof he never would have called the SES" Tanya Wittmann is on a mission to let women know that the SES is open to everyone who wants to join.

A toddler has been airlifted to Queensland Children's Hospital where he remains in a critical condition after being pulled unresponsive from a backyard pool in Roma.
