Teen assaulted after being followed by trio off bus

POLICE are investigating an assault and unlawful wounding in Nerang on Wednesday.

Around 11.45pm an 18-year-old man was on a bus when three teens verbally assaulted him.

The man got off of the bus at the railway station on Boulton Road Nerang and was allegedly followed by the trio.

A physical altercation ensued between the man and one of the teenagers, as a result the man received a laceration to his stomach.

He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old male and female are currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
