State government quiet on Uber assault claims

STATE Government ministers were reluctant on Tuesday to be drawn into the simmering allegations of violence from taxi drivers on Brisbane's Uber drivers.

Fairfax Media on Tuesday morning reported Facebook admissions by Greg Collins, the owner of Virginia-based cab company Complete Taxi Management that he had physically assaulted an Uber driver.

Mr Collins subsequently said he was joking and denied hitting any cab driver.

On the weekend there were allegations a group of men targeted two Uber drivers in Fortitude Valley and Kangaroo Point.
Police are now investigating those allegations.
