Stan and Judy celebrate 50 years together

JANDOWAE'S Stan and Judy Olsen celebrated 50years of married life with their friends and family last weekend.

Local boy Stan met his Pittsworth sweetheart at a country dance and the rest, as they say, is history.

Stan and Judy were married at St Stephen's Presbyterian Church in Toowoomba on March 8, 1969 and had their reception at Picnic Point.

The couple still live on their Seven Oaks grain farm and have three daughters - Bronwyn, Amanda and Helen - and six grandchildren.

Mrs Olsen said there wasn't much to it when it came to going the 50-year distance.

"There's no big secret - you've just got to work together,” she said.

As for their future together, Stan said they plan to continue farming and seeing more of their grandchildren.

Stan and Judy still have as a keepsake the silver knife the couple used to cut their wedding cake 50years ago.
