Rowes Carnival of Flowers light show kicks off tonight

ROWES Carnival of Flowers Light Show will kick off tonight and store owner and talented digital animator John Rowe has come up with a theme for the times.

The Rowes Light Show has become a family feature of Christmas, Easter and Carnival of Flowers Week in recent years and has proved popular as families gather on the footpath to watch the spectacle that spreads across the façade of the Russell St store.

Mr Rowe always comes up with a theme for the times for his features and the Carnival of Flowers show is no different and carries a COVID message.

"Considering the strange times we're in I thought it'd be a good idea to remind everyone of the need for social distancing as it can get quite crowded on the footpath (watching the show)," Mr Rowe said.
"And, if we're going to remind people about COVID then why not make a song and dance about it.

"So that's exactly what we've done with a dash of good old Aussie humour thrown in.

"The new show features all of the favourite characters demonstrating how to stay COVID safe while enjoying our light shows, culminating in a spectacular musical finish - 'Working together we can kick COVID... Yes we Can-Can!'

"We're also playing our extremely popular Carnival of Flowers shows from previous years making for a three show loop that runs every eight minutes."

The Rowes Light Show runs nightly from 6.30pm until 9pm with the final night being Sunday, September 27.

"It's COVID Safe fun for the whole family and you can watch from your car as well," Mr Rowe said.
