Riders rev their engines for Chinchilla Motocross Club event
Motocross: Nothing gets the heart racing quite like motocross, and enthusiasts of the sport had the opportunity to watch some of the region's top riders compete as the Chinchilla Motocross Club hosted its second club day of the year.
Chinchilla Motocross Club hosts six club days a year, with crucial competition points up for grabs each time.
President and competitive rider Jake Jenyns said the day was filled with great competition.
"It was a pretty good turn-out of around 50 riders,” he said.
"Our numbers were hindered a little bit as we traditionally hold club days on Sunday however we moved it to a Saturday to coincide with Toowoomba's motocross event, which was also held over the weekend.”
Jenyns said days like Saturday would hopefully encourage neutral fans to come out in support and even participate.
"Although our club is in a strong position, it would be fantastic to see our club get more exposure and reach the wider public,” he said.
"Not only do we have fantastic facilities and a good track but we have people that come from as far as Brisbane who commend the Chinchilla motocross community for their welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, which is something our club considers a point of pride.”
The Chinchilla Motocross Club's third club day is scheduled for the weekend of July 21-22.
