Rider airlifted to hospital after fall from horse

A 17-year-old girl who was injured after falling from a horse on a property in the South Burnett region on Saturday has been airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue overnight.

The teenager suffered suspected head and spinal injuries.

CareFlight's Toowoomba-based helicopter was called in from the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre at 5.30pm on Saturday.

The girl was retrieved from Kingaroy Hospital and flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition.
