Residents report feeling earthquake in Toowoomba

TOOWOOMBA region residents have reported feeling the tremors of a 5.4 earthquake that shook parts of south-east Queensland this morning.

Geoscience Australia confirmed the quake occurred at 9.41am.

Tremors were felt along the south-east coast from Brisbane to Hervey Bay.

On The Chronicle's Facebook page, Blake Parton said he felt the earthquake in North Toowoomba.

Jessica Thomas said the tremors were felt in Cabarlah.

Toowoomba businessman Darren Bliesner was on Fraser Island when the quake struck.

"Floor moving up and down and beds moving," he tweeted

"Walls shaking. We heard a roar like a jet going over us."
