Remembrance Day services being held in our region today

THE Chinchilla RSL Sub-Branch have arranged for a group of very special guests to attend this year’s Remembrance Day.

Five horses from the 11th Light Horse Regiment on the Darling Downs will be travelling out to the Western Downs next week to take part in Monday morning’s service.

Sub-Branch president Murray Travis said the Sub-Branch were looking forward to seeing as many community members as possible in attendance.

“We’ve invited all the schools and we warmly invite everyone in the community to come down from 10.30am in front of the RSL and join us in showing our respects to the men and women who enlisted to serve and protect their country. We will be providing morning tea afterwards.”

The local service details are as follows:

Tara – 10.30am at the Tara Lagoon Parklands on Showgrounds Rd

Wandoan – 11am at Wandoan State School on North Street

Miles – 10.45am at Anzac Park on Murilla St

Meandarra – 10.45am at the Meandarra ANZAC Memorial Museum on Sara St

Chinchilla – 10.45am Chinchilla RSL Sub-Branch on Heeney St
