Police warning after three separate women assaulted in city
POLICE have issued a warning to the community after three women were allegedly sexually assaulted in separate attacks in Manoora last night.
Police have alleged a man aged in his mid 20s approached the women on separate occasions at Springfield Crescent between 7pm and 7.30pm on Thursday night.
"He has made innapropriate sexual comment and assaulted all three," Detective Inspector Jason Smith said.
"They were not together, these were separate instances."
Each of the women screamed or yelled at the man which caused him to flee on foot. Then women then alerted police.
Multiple units responded including the dog squad with a thorough search of the area unable to locate the man.
He is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 175cm tall with a slim build.
Det Insp Smith has urged any witnesses to call Police Link on 131 444.
"We are seeking community assistance, if anyone has CCTV footage or seen anyone acting suspiciously around a female," he said.
The alleged offender reportedly was not wearing a shirt but was seen carrying a white towel or T-shirt.
"I'm very concerned by this man's motivated behaviour- the brazen attacks in a reasonably busy street and all within 30 minutes, is troubling," Det Insp Smith said.
"I want the community to be aware of what happened and to know that this man has yet to be caught.
"I'm urging everyone to be extra vigilant of their surroundings and to immediately contact police if they notice anyone suspicious, or out of place, or someone's actions or behaviours are making them feel unsafe."
Police will be conducting additional patrols in the area.
