
Police uncover 'elaborate hydroponic system' in North Mackay
POLICE are investigating after the discovery of an elaborate hydroponic system inside an business premises at North Mackay last night.
The marijuana hydroponic system was allegedly located in a concealed compartment of an industrial shed on O'Loughlin St and could be only be accessed by removing a wall panel, police said in a statement.
Twelve small plants were allegedly seized during the search, along with a large amount of hydroponic equipment.

"The elaborate marijuana hydroponic system was located as a result of information received from a member of the public," Mackay Drug Taskforce Plain Clothes Senior Constable Bruce Walpole said.
Police continue to encourage members of the community who may have any information which could assist in identifying drug suppliers in our community to come forward and supply that information via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
