YOUR SAY: Police should crack down on mobility scooters
WHY do mobility scooters owners/riders get away with breaking the law?
Queensland Transport department regulations clearly state unregistered scooters are not to be ridden outside of their property, yet many are seen in local shopping centres and on our roads, without registration plates.
Also, doesn't anyone abide by or read the designated traffic rules? I am yet to see just one rider of a mobility scooter on any public road in the Ipswich area riding towards oncoming traffic.
All I have seen is scooters being driven on the left side of the road, which is contrary to the law.
I wonder if the police enforce this regulation or just ignore it?
