UPDATE: Ipswich detectives investigating a number of incidents on September 2, including two attempted armed robberies, have now released CCTV footage of one of the two men who maybe able to assist them with their investigations.

The CCTV footage shows a man attempting to steal a vehicle from a Phyllis St address. He appears to be armed with a knife and enters the residence when he is unable to open the car's door. He is then seen to leave the residence running past a number of children.

Police are urging anyone who may know the man's current whereabouts or who have any information that can assist in their investigations to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police investigations are continuing.

EARLIER: Two men are accused of threatening a driver and trying stealing his car after he pulled into a petrol station in Eastern Heights before fleeing and trying to steal a second car.

Police released images of the two alleged offenders and said both attempts failed.

QPS has now called on anyone who may know where the two men are to contact Crime Stoppers.

Police allege the pair first threatened a 56-year-old man at Grange Rd petrol station about 4.15pm on Friday.

"It will be further alleged that the pair ran into nearby Edgar Street where they attempted to steal another vehicle," a police statement said.

"A 23-year-old woman, who had just pulled into a driveway, was pushed up against her car and threatened.

"The men however again fled on foot when attempts to start the woman's car failed.

"One of the men is described as Caucasian, 170cms tall with a slim build, short blonde hair and blue eyes.
The other man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, 160cms tall with a slim build, short black hair and brown eyes."
