Police catch up with two men after bungled getaway

TWO men who attempted to rob a corner store and an ice cream last night did not count on an undercover police officer being on the scene.

At 9.20pm on Tuesday, two men went into separate businesses in the Brisbane suburb of Everton Park, one into a convenience store, the other into an ice cream parlour.

Both the bungling criminals failed to escape with any cash.

But an undercover police officer had spotted two men who got into a vehicle, and followed them.

After capturing the vehicle's registration number, police established a cordon around a home in Albany Creek.

The two men and one woman inside the house then surrendered to police "without incident" and as of 3.30am Thursday, were still "assisting with inquiries".
