Parked police car involved in fatal motorcycle crash
POLICE confirmed a motorcyclist involved in a crash near Coraki in the early hours of this morning has died.
A Critical Incident Investigation has been launched as a result.
About 12.20am (Tuesday 17 May 2016), police from Richmond Local Area Command were called to Casino Coraki Road to assist with cattle on the roadway.
A motorcyclist has hit a stray cow and was thrown from his bike. The rider has then hit a parked police car.
First aid was commenced at the scene and the 51-year-old rider was also treated on site by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.
The circumstances surrounding that crash are being investigated by a Critical Incident Team from an independent local area command from within Northern Region. Inquiries at the scene are continuing.
Diversions are in place for the Casino side of the site at Tatham-Tomki Rd just outside Tatham. Traffic will be diverted north to the Bruxner Hwy and then east to Coraki Rd and back south to the Glebe Bridge at Coraki. The reverse will be in effect for westbound traffic.
Heavy vehicles are being advised to take Summerland Way.
