Outpouring of grief for young dad who was taken too soon

THE Fraser Coast community has shared an outpouring of grief after the tragic death of young father Lee Brown.

The former Urangan man, 21, was killed just weeks before the expected arrival of his second child after he was involved in a single car crash 80km from Kingaroy while driving from Cowra to Hervey Bay.

Mr Brown had just moved to Cowra with his partner, Brianna, and their son, Meeko, and he was returning home to work with his father Douglas for a week when the crash happened.

Heartbreaking tributes were left on Mr Brown's personal Facebook page after his death, while people took to the Chronicle's Facebook page on Tuesday to share their sorrow at the loss of a much-loved member of the community.

The story was shared dozens of times from the Chronicle's Facebook page as people told stories of the man they described as a joyful spirit.

Jacki Rae said her heart ached for his parents having to bury their son way too soon as well as his partner and children,

"I'm so sorry for the loved ones left behind by this tragedy," she wrote.

"He was a delight to know."

Bek Thomson gave her condolences to his partner and son.

"Another beautiful life cut short way too soon," she posted.

Ashleigh Day also posted to the Chronicle's page, telling Lee to rest in peace.

"You were an awesome, amazing bloke," she wrote.

Others remembered Lee from their time playing alongside him for the Hervey Bay Bombers Aussie rules side.
