Noisy drinker flips his car, police find nunchucks

FRANCIS Gregery Moore has faced the Gatton Magistrates Court for numerous offences committed in Jappoonvale, Innisfail as he now resides in Laidley.

The court heard, all nine of Moore's charges related to one continuous incident which occurred on January 16.

Police prosecutor Sergeant De Lissa said the charges included failing to provide specimen of breath for analysis, possessing dangerous drugs and nunchucks, attempted unlawful use of a vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, failing to stop vehicle and driving while unlicensed and uninsured.

The incident began at family hot spot, Liverpool Ck, Japoonvale, where Moore and a friend, who had his four children with him, were reportedly drinking and playing loud music in the car park.

Police received complaints about them, and a witness alleged Moore had threatened them verbally.

Moore drove away from the scene, but hit a tree trunk and rolled the car.

His friend and one of the children sustained minor injuries from the crash.

Witnesses helped to roll the car back over and Moore attempted to drive away again.

Police chased Moore, who attempted to evade them,  but he eventually pulled over, and was arrested.

When searched, police found 1.8g of marijuana and a pair of makeshift nun chucks.

In his defence it was heard Moore had gone on a "bender" because he had lost his job, relationship and home.

Magistrate Damien Carroll fined Moore $300 and sentenced him to 36 months probation.
