ANOTHER specialist has joined Toowoomba Hospital's staff.

Neurologist Dr Ronald Siu will work under experienced staff specialist Dr Eddie Win at the hospital, after studying medicine in Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand.

He said Toowoomba actually wasn't his first choice.

"We were thinking about relocating to New Zealand but my wife, who is a nephrologist, got a job in Toowoomba and she loved the place so that's how we came to be here," he said.

"I expressed my interest in working at Toowoomba Hospital and it has been great to join the team with a very experienced staff specialist, Dr Eddie Win, and visiting medical officer Dr Grant Kleinschmidt."

Dr Siu said he was excited to work under Dr Win, considering the latter's experience in medicine.

"Working with Dr Win on a day-to-day basis has been very good because as someone with more than 40 years' experience he has an abundance of knowledge, especially in cases that are a challenge to diagnose," he said.
