AT 9am May 14 it's alleged that a male and female resident in High Street, North Mackay have arrived home when they were confronted by an agitated neighbour.

It's alleged that the neighbour was in possession of a machete and shouting at them, before striking the fence line three times with the machete causing damage. The male and female promptly left the area in their car before police were called.

On arrival officers have talked to the agitated neighbour at his home and are alleged to have found a machete in his laundry. He has been charged with common assault and also failing to properly dispose of a needle and syringe.

He will appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on June 13 to have the matter heard.
