RACING winnings weren't the only things showering down on punters at the Taroom Cup Races on Saturday.

A healthy dose of rain, lightning and gusty winds brought the five-race event to a premature end with the final race, the Open Cup Handicap unable to be carried out.

But not a single spectator was complaining with hundreds of faces beaming in sheer relief at the prospect of finally receiving some rainfall.

Whilst the rain didn't hang around for long Taroom was fortunate enough to receive a healthy 10.4 millimetres over the weekend, according to weatherzone.com.

Soggy conditions aside the races were carried out in fine form with fashions on the field providing an excellent array of Spring racing season ensembles.
