Maranoa residents encouraged to apply for scholarship
MARANOA students, researchers, and professionals have the chance to apply for a share of up to $119 million to study at leading institutions in Australia and beyond.
The grants are part of the Endeavour Leadership Programme that Maranoa MP David Littleproud described as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study and research at some of the best institutions worldwide.”
The programme is open to undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education and training students, as well as higher education providers and registered training organisations.
"We hope to encourage as many applicants as possible with grants starting at $2500,” Mr Littleproud said.
"The grants would make a huge difference to people from remote and regional communities that may have limited access to further education.”
Three Maranoa residents received grants under the program in 2015-18 round.
"Maranoa represents 42% of Queensland so I'd like to see as many people as possible from rural communities apply.
"These grants are invaluable and I hope they help people expand their academic horizons.
"Our economy depends on a skilled workforce and we want to make sure our students, academics and researchers are the leaders in their chosen field.
The programme brings together both the Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships and the Endeavour Mobility Grants.
