More info emerges after man killed in hit and run

UPDATE MONDAY: Police are still looking for public help after the fatal crash on Saturday, September 3.

Cairns Forensic Crash Unit investigators want to speak to the male driver of a dark blue Ford Falcon Station Wagon.

The vehicle is believed to be fitted with standard highway pursuit black rims, and was seen on Junction Street around the time of the crash.

The vehicle was seen travelling along Junction and Mill Street before turning right toward Wonga.

SATURDAY: A HIT-and-run in Mossman has left a man dead this morning.

A member of the public found the man on Junction Road around 4:45am and it appeared he'd been struck by a vehicle. 

Emergency services arrived but pronounced the 24-year-old man dead at the scene.

Police are looking for a black coloured car with damage to one of its headlights which they believe may have been involved in the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
