Man charged after woman seriously assaulted at Urangan

DETECTIVES from the Wide Bay Burnett District investigating the alleged serious assault of a woman at Urangan on Saturday night have charged a man with grievous bodily harm.

Police will allege they were called to a resort on Boat Harbour Drive around 7.45pm where a 63-year-old Rothwell woman was located with severe facial injuries and multiple bruises and abrasions.

She was transported to hospital for treatment to suspected facial fractures.

A 55-year-old Rothwell man has been denied police bail and will appear in the Maryborough Magistrates Court on Monday, October 20.
