Man to appear in court after allegedly showing off knives

A 39-YEAR-OLD Nambour man has been served with a notice to appear in court after an alleged weapons act offence at a licensed venue on Mulherin Dr, Mackay Harbour.

It's alleged that between 12.00 and 12.30 am on May 21 the man was in attendance at the venue and was showing two separate knives he had in his physical possession (tucked in the back of his pants and his boot) to other patrons who were present.

Police attended to the venue as a result and spoke with the man, it's alleged that both knives (one described as a shank) were found by the officers in the man's possession.

The male was served with a notice to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on June 7 for unlawfully possessing knives in a public place.
