Maguire says Turner return no reason to worry

RABBITOHS coach Michael Maguire says no one should be concerned if injury-prone forward Kyle Turner lines up in tonight's match against Manly at Brookvale Oval.

Turner had to leave the field under the concussion rule last weekend in what was his comeback game following neck surgery in the All Stars game earlier this year.

"He's obviously had injuries with his neck, (but) that's really, really strong at the moment, so everyone can feel confident around that," Maguire said.

"With his head knocks, we go through the protocols that are assigned by the powers that be, and we make sure he's ready to go.

"If he's right to go, then he'll get an opportunity."

The match will mark the return of former Manly favourite son Glenn Stewart to Brookvale for the first time in opposition colours.

Stewart has been outstanding for the Rabbitohs this season, and was a key part of Manly's NRL premierships in 2008 and 2011.

His exit from the club, against the wishes of chairman and part-owner Scott Penn, was believed to have been one of the factors in the decision to terminate coach Geoff Toovey's contract at the end of the season.

After thrashing ladder leaders the Broncos 44-14 last weekend, the Sea Eagles remain just one win outside the top eight and could conceivably replace the Bulldogs in eighth spot with a win against the Rabbitohs.

Interestingly, Unibet has elevated Manly to eighth favourite to win the NRL premiership, and a victory tonight would see those odds shorten.
