Lismore man pleads guilty to execution-style murder

A LISMORE man involved in a love triangle with a Gold Coast businessman has pleaded guilty to killing the 37-year-old, execution style.

Adam James Gooley appeared in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Friday to answer charges over the murder at Gilston, in July 2013.

Police stated 34-year-old Gooley shot Shyam 'Sam' Dhody up to 10 times in the head at his home on July 5.

Gooley also faced an attempted murder charge over an incident involving Mr Dhody on March 26, 2013.

The court heard on that occasion Mr Dhody was allegedly attacked with a crowbar.

Gooley and a woman were last year committed to stand trial for murder but following Friday's guilty plea, he will face a hearing in September to determine his fate.

He faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with no parole for at least 20 years.
