Lindsay Ede murder case adjourned until April

THE first man in the state to be charged with unlawful striking causing death has had his matter mentioned briefly in court.

Ariik Mayot, 19, is accused of punching Lindsay Ede, 56, in the head on June 22, 2015 at Goodna.

Mr Ede was walking along Albert St when Mr Mayot allegedly assaulted him before he fell and hit his head in the unprovoked attack.

Mr Ede died in hospital on July 15 from his injuries.

The matter was adjourned until April 20.
