HUGHES HIJACKS Q&A: ‘He looked like a 13-year-old girl’

COMEDIAN Dave Hughes stole the show on Q&A, with a left-field solution to sorting the Budget, advertising his family home and asking Bill Shorten what the heck he was thinking with that Australia First advertisement.

Hughes destroyed Australia's TV A-list with an hilariously scorching opening monologue at the Logies a few weeks ago, and was equally on form for his ABC appearance on the Q&A panel on Monday night.

Stand-in Q&A host Virginia Trioli set up the skittles for Hughes on topics including Turnbull meeting Trump, housing affordability, the Federal Budget, Gonski, veterans affairs and changing the date of Australia Day - Hughes quickly knocked them all over.

Hughes for the most part left the rest of the panel: Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Defence Personnel Dan Tehan, Tasmanian Labor Senator Lisa Singh, taxation lawyer and corporate specialist Mark Leibler and CEO of the Victorian Urban Development Institute Danni Addison trailing in his wake.
