Hard work recognised at awards ceremony

THE PARENTS and Citizens group of Bell State School is the toast of the Darling Downs.

The group was awarded the best in the Darling Downs/Southwest at a ceremony last Saturday.

The award recognises outstanding achievements by P&C groups in the region, as well as a $1000 winning purse.

Secretary Joanne Rodney said the award was a confidence boost to every member of the group.

"We are extremely proud because it highlights the work our group does for our small regional school,” Mrs Rodney said.

Events including the Bunya Bike Ride which has been run by the P&C for the last 41 years, were part of the application.

The prize money will be put back into programs run by the group, including a new drinking fountain at the school's multi-purpose courts.
