Movie Night: Getting moronic with the Knitting Nannas

A SCREENING of Australian rock musical production by Chris Dockrill, The Island of Doctor Moron, is the next movie night fundraiser for the Knitting Nannas Against Gas.

With food available from the Good Juju Café in the Star Court arcade right up to 7.15pm and entertainment in the foyer from 6pm, it's a not-to-be missed event with plenty of fun sheNannagins, organisers said.

The Nannas will be selling tickets with great raffle prizes and Dr Moron merchandise, while Paul Robert Burton provides the pre-movie music.

A lucky person will win the Miss Voodo Chook clucky door prize.

The Island of Doctor Moron features Edwyna and Douggie, shipwrecked on a mysterious South Sea island.

They are captured by Rastafarian voodoo natives and drugged with Jungle Fever juice.

After almost being cooked in the sacrificial cauldron they are auctioned off to Doctor Moron, who buys the couple as new experimental subjects.

The doctor's life's work is perfecting the secret process that will enable him to transmute humans into animals. He wants to unleash the beast in us all.

At the Star Court Theatre, Lismore, this Friday July 15 at 7pm.

Tickets are $20, available on the night or in advance at starcourttheatre.com.au/events/moron

Funds raised will support distant Nannas to attend the Nannanational conference in Chinchilla, Qld, next month, as they conspire to save the land, air and water for the kiddies.
