After a tough search Georgia's found a job and she’s excited

The teenager was offered a job at Keen Mechanical Services as a receptionist after telling The Chronicle about her struggles to find employment and submitting her 110th unsuccessful job application.

On July 29, the Chronicle covered Ms Stephensen's job search troubles, sparking a deluge of advice from concerned readers on how the school leaver could increase her prospects.

Keen Mechanical Services owner Mark Keen said Ms Stephensen presented well when interviewed and would be a welcome addition to his team.

"She was very well composed and it is a pleasure to have the opportunity to help her," he said.

The teen will begin her first receptionist job at Mr Keen's firm on Monday.

Now happy about her future, Ms Stephensen encourages others in her position to not abandon the search.

"To anyone else in same position, if you've applied for lots of jobs don't give up.

"It's exciting to have a job after all the applications I put out."

Ms Stephensen told the Chronicle that she had also been interviewed by a costume jewellery shop recently, but decided on Mr Keen's job because of the chance he offered.

"(Mr Keen) is down to earth and I'm excited to work for a man like him," she said.

After being interviewed for three jobs in one day recently, Miss Stephensen now has more sage advice for Fraser Coast job hunters.

"It all comes in at once, so don't give up," she said.
