RACING: Gold Coast horse Globally was the star of the show on the Warra track yesterday, taking the win of the day in race three.

Globally never looked threatened when jockey Jarrod Woodhouse took him to the lead coming into the straight.

It was a controlled performance from the jockey, who said he followed the simple instruction of getting to the front.

"Once he got his head out in front it was all over, thanks for coming,” Woodhouse said.

Owner Ben Lawrence said he was pleased with the performance.

He said he wanted his horse to be at the front of the field for the whole race, and that Woodhouse had executed the plan well.

Off the track their was a large crowd at Warra for the annual race day.

Estimates suggest attendance was up from 2017, adding to the event.

The children's barrel races as well as fashions on the field were a hit with the crowd.
