Fresh touch footy season is ready to get underway
WEDNESDAY night social touch football is back for a fresh season and with grading games complete Bulldog Park is set to get back into the swing of things.
The 23-week season began last night with the first draw of the season.
Club president Rachel de Jonge said the game had a massive following everywhere and had always been popular in Chinchilla but this season was shaping up as one of the biggest yet.
"It's a game that's loved by so many because it's a great team atmosphere and it's family friendly,” de Jonge said.
"We have mums and dads playing with their kids in teams and they all have a tonne of fun.
"And if you can come out here and have fun, it always makes you want to come back, which is why we see such a big return year after year.
The club caters for a lot of different ages and abilities, with an under-12s competition on Wednesday afternoons ahead of the mixed senior fixtures in the evenings.
Most teams are already full but there are a handful seeking extra players.
