Fire destroys Brisbane home, threatens others

FIREFIGHTERS were on Sunday battling to contain a blaze at a double storey home in Brisbane's west.

The fire erupted at the home in Devoy Street, Ashgrove, just after noon, Fairfax reported.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency services spokeswoman said all people inside the home had been accounted for.

The blaze started at the back of the home and quickly took hold.

Two firefighting units who were initially called to the scene have called for extra resources to support the fight.
