Police identify elderly man struck by car at Oxley

UPDATE: Police have identified a man involved a serious traffic crash at Oxley this morning.

Initial investigations revealed the crash occurred between 5.30am and 5.45am near the intersection of Boundary Road and Kimberley Street.

The 79 year-old man from Inala is currently receiving medical treatment.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.

 

EARLIER: Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man reportedly hit by a car this morning.

Initial investigations indicate the man, believed to be his 70s, was hit by a vehicle in Oxley near intersection of Boundary Rd and Kimberley St between 5.30am - 5.45am.

The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Police have so far been unable to identify the man and are appealing for anyone who thinks they might know him, or recognise his hat or cane (pictured below) to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

The driver is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
