LATEST: The driver of a cattle truck which rolled on a remote road, trapping him inside the vehicle for six hours, has been airlifted to hospital.

The RACQ LifeFlight helicopter transported the man from the scene to Toowoomba Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

He had been trapped in the over-turned prime mover after the loaded B-double cattle truck rolled on Auburn Rd at Auburn, about 110km north of Chinchilla, shortly before 9am.

12.10PM: Firefighters are working to free the driver of a truck which rolled on a remote Western Downs road early this morning.

Emergency services reported the loaded B-double cattle truck rolled on Auburn Rd near the intersection of Auburn Hawkwood Rd at Auburn, about 110km north of Chinchilla, about 8.55am.

The driver of the truck is trapped in the cab and firefighters are using hydraulic cutting equipment to free him, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said.

Four QFES units are at the scene with a fifth en route, the spokeswoman said.

The condition of the cattle is unknown at this stage.

The RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene to airlift the man once he is freed from the truck.

Police have closed the road.

Reports suggest the driver of the truck is trapped in the cab. It is unknown if the cattle truck was loaded at the time.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews from Chinchilla are responding to the crash.

The incident was reported about 8.55am.
