Dozens of charges for juveniles that stole two cars

UPDATE, 3.55pm: A QUEENSLAND Police Service spokeswoman has confirmed three teenage boys have been taken into custody after allegedly stealing two cars from Chinchilla, with one of the vehicles having been driven all the way to Dalby.

"Police arrested two boys aged 13 and 15 in relation to the alleged incidents today in Chinchilla," the spokeswoman said.

"A third boy aged 12 was also taken into custody."

The 15-year-old boy was charged with 17 offences including:

  • Four counts of enter premisis and commit indictable offence
  • Four counts of driving unlicenced
  • Three counts of tresspass
  • Two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • One count of attempted enter dwelling by break
  • One count of possession of a knife in a public place
  • One count of unlawful entry of vehicle
  • One count of unlawful possession of stolen property

The 13-year-old has been charged with seven offences:

  • Two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Two counts of enter premesis and commit indictable offence
  • Two counts of burglary and commit indictable offence
  • One count of unlawful entry of a vehicle and commit indictable offence

A Holden Commodore was stolen during a break in on Nowland Street in Chinchilla between June 14 and 15.

"At around 2.45am on June 15, the stolen vehicle was allegedly driven to a business on Heeney St, Chinchilla," the spokeswoman said.

"An occupant of the vehicle then smashed through the front glass doors of the premises before taking a large quantity of cigarettes and leaving in the car.

"On June 21 a car was broken into on Mann Street, Chinchilla.

"A sum of money was stolen as well as a multi-tool containing a knife.

"Between 12:30am and 3:50am on June 22, it is alleged a person broke into a unit on Park Street Chinchilla and taken Toyota Hilux car keys.

"The vehicle was then stolen from the address.

"Between 12:00am and 4:00am on June 22 it is alleged the same person drove the stolen Hilux to a business on Drayton Street, Dalby and forced entry.

"The cash register was removed from the counter of the business before the person fled the store."

The 15-year old and 13-year-old boys are expected to appear in Dalby Children's Court at a later date.

EARLIER: Chinchilla police have responded to a number of property and vehicle related offences.

Two vehicles have allegedly been stolen by three juvenile offenders.

A stolen Toyota Hilux has allegedly been returned to it's owner, but a white Honda CRV is still on the run, having been spotted north of Chinchilla earlier today.

The three juveniles have reportedly been collectively charged with 28 offences.

Police are still investigating.
