Concussion unlikely to stop Farah

NEW South Wales hooker Robbie Farah is no stranger to injury around Origin time, but the good news for him is he should be okay to face Queensland in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Farah missed the Tigers' 20-12 win over the Knights at Campbelltown Stadium last Saturday because of a heavy concussion.

That came from a sickening incident he suffered almost two weeks ago when his head collided with the hip of Bulldogs playmaker and former Blues teammate Josh Reynolds.

Farah's head also hit the ground hard and the game was stopped for several minutes while he was taken from the field on a medicab and transported to hospital.

The veteran of 13 Origin games for NSW, who missed the team's 52-6 thrashing from Queensland in game three last year because of a broken hand, is set to play, however, after brain scans cleared him of serious injury.

"It's just a matter of getting my preparation right," he said. "It seems like it (getting injured going into an Origin game) has happened to me in the past couple of years, so the biggest thing I've learnt from that is to take confidence out of your preparation.

"As long as I get a good week's training, I should have no concerns going into the game."

Blues utility Dylan Walker, who made his name as a centre at South Sydney but has been playing at five-eighth with Manly this season, had a crash course at hooker in case Farah is ruled out.

In further positive news for the Blues, centre Josh Dugan (elbow) emerged from training unscathed.
